Second hand Dell Dimension

Dell have been using the Dimension name for their desktop PCs quite some time now. The different models are reflected by numbers after the name (I'm typing this on a Dimesnion 4700).

Over the years Dell have moved from biege cases to black boxes and they are currently selling striking silver machines with a groovy hole at the fron of the case for the fan.

It is very affordable to buy a used Dell Dimension, it may not be top of the range but would be adequate for most purposes.

Like with many goods a second hand Dell Dimension can probably be found on ebay and better still you can register free. ( UK UK cousin )

Dell Dimension Buying Tips

  1. If the Dell Dimension comes with the operating system pre-installed ensure you are also getting the CDs so that you can re-install if needed.
  2. If you want to take the Dell Dimension to LAN parties make sure it is not too heavy
  3. If the Dell Dimension is running slowly it may just need more memory which can be purchased relatively cheaply nowadays
  4. When buying a second hand Dell Dimension make sure that all supplied software (including the operating system) is legally licensed
  5. When buying a secondhand Dell Dimension at auction, don't get carried away and bid over the new price
